“Profusion of analysis these days of the outcomes of Xi Jinping’s Russia visit. The impression as though various reputable Indian experts almost dream of Russia-China ties harming Russia-India strategic alignment. A wishful thinking case in point!” said Russian ambassador to Indian Denis Alipov in a tweet.
Alipov was responding to the analyses in the media about the outcome of Xi’s visit to Russia.
The two leaders, however, also strongly condemned the use of what they described as irrelevant issues to dilute the agenda of multilateral forums, without specifically naming G20 which is currently being steered by India. Both Russia and China are against raising the Ukraine issue at G20 as they believe the forum is not meant to discuss security-related issues.

Russia, however, has praised India's handling of G20 with foreign minister Sergey Lavrov saying earlier Russia appreciates “the responsible stand India is taking on key global agendas”.
