From China to Russia and little Zim: US tries to manipulate cyber space

Prof Jonathan Powel-Correspondent

When Zimbabwe introduced its Cyber Security Bill, which is a very noble idea for a country that has been under attack by anti-liberation forces, NGOs, mainly those sponsored by the United States, cried foul.

The US itself cried foul, yet, the US is busy trying to outdo all other countries in the cyber space.

The Government of Zimbabwe, which is already under unfair sanctions from the US and its allies, deserves the right to protect itself from cyber bullying and deserves the right to use cyber equipment from a country of its choice.

There is nothing special about the US and its allies, that Russia and China cannot do.

Now US and its multifarious array of NGOs have been using the cyber space to spy and attack everyone from China to Russia and little Zimbabwe.

It’s these bully tactics that should make the world look at other alternatives. Zimbabwe is right. Russia is right. China is right. The US and its allies are wrong.

The cyber space should be for everyone. Every country needs cyber security to survive. Each country needs user friendly and trusted cyber security systems.

There should never be monopoly from the US alone. The progressive world should allow everyone to participate in the cyber security space. Not one big bully country.

The recent shooting down of a Chinese weather balloon by the United States military jets exposes Washington’s main policy thrust, on monopolising the international cyber space.

The US’ ultimate goal is to control the whole world and be the big brother to everyone, without being challenged. Now that does not make the world safe.

The world cannot allow one country to be a deity. It is very, very dangerous.

Since the advent of technology, the cyber space has become especially important in world power matrix. US President Joe Biden brazenly represents all the bully and treacherous tactics of his country.

Control of the cyber space has become the latest aggression of the US and it has proved that it will do anything to maintain hegemony on it. But the progressive world should never allow this to happen. Never, ever!

Allowing the US to have hegemony on the cyber space is tantamount to arming a bully to the teeth. It is very dangerous.

But if the truth be told, Russia and China have some of the best cyber systems in the world and many developing countries, especially in Africa, can benefit immensely from these user friendly and reliable cyber systems. Russia for instance has proved very powerful as the special military operation in Ukraine has proved hard for US and its gangster allies in Europe. If Russia was weak, it would be history by now, but it still stands. That tells you how powerful its machinery is and how powerful is cyber security it.

Over the years, Washington has been doing everything it can to monopolise and terrorise the cyber space, to close out other countries like Russia and china,

Washington wants every other country in the world to be subservient and ascribe to its cypher system, thereby destroying the independence of other countries.

It is fact, not fiction, that Washington has been abusing the cyber space and spying on other nations as well as using the cyber space to effect regime change.

Tunisia is a good example of how the US engineered unrest and regime change, using youths, managing and directing them on how to implement the uprising that ended in regime change.

Today, Tunisia has seen no peace. Tunisia is in turmoil.

Another example of US cyber bullying is the disconnection of Russia Today from the main news grid soon after Russia launched the special military operation.

Thank God, Russia is not a small country and did not need to rely on international propaganda to execute the war in Ukraine.

That was clear cyber bullying on part of US and its allies.

If the truth be told, Russia has alternative cyber systems that can help many developing countries install in their own countries to counter the US monopoly.

The US does not love the world. It does not love a single country. It loves its own people and only helps those countries whom it can abuse to achieve its own needs.

Alternative cyber solutions from Russia and China are the way to go as they ultimately check-mate the bully.

Russia and China have proven records in cyber space management and command and have technologically advanced systems that are user-friendly to developing countries.

It is high time the developing world goes into synergies or installs cyber control and management systems from Russia and China that from the US.

Everyone knows the US has no genuine love for foreigners and its manoeuvres in Ukraine are very clear.

Imagine the anti-Russian propaganda being churned from Ukraine and has not been successful because Russia is a strong country. But imagine if it was your small country.

It is, therefore, necessary for all the developing nations to turn to Russia and China for cyber solutions. They have the technology with no string attached.

The US will abuse your country and spy on you. It’s bad politics. It’s bad foreign policy. It’s cruel.

The US must never be allowed to maintain pole position on the cyber space, because it is known to abuse its powers.

The illegal sanctions it imposed on Zimbabwe, Russia, Cuba and many other countries are testimony of its cruelty. The shooting of the Chinese balloon is testimony of the same cruelty.

The sponsoring on Ukraine to the tune of billions of dollars by the US is yet another testimony of its callous nature.
