Police in Germany and Ukraine raided a Russian cybercriminal gang using DoppelPaymer ransomware and associated with Evil Corp, detaining several suspects and seizing evidence, Fox Business reported March 6.
In August 2022, the U.S. government warned the healthcare sector about the threat posed by Evil Corp. The German Regional Police, in partnership with the Ukrainian National Police and the FBI, were able to identify 11 individuals associated with the group.
In 2019, the U.S. government offered $5 million for information leading to the capture of alleged Evil Corp leader Maxim Yakubets.
