Switzerland joins EU’s latest Russian sanctions

The move would see around 200 individuals and organizations face restrictions on doing business with Swiss nationals and enterprises.

“The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) set about amending the annexes of the relevant ordinance within its competence and approved, among other things, the sanctioning of around 200 additional individuals and entities,” the message reads.

The restrictions include oversight of dual-use exports to Russia, and a ban on Swiss companies providing the Russian market with services related to product testing, advertising, market and opinion research.

“In addition, the export ban on goods for the aerospace industry will be extended to include engines for aircraft and drones,” Swiss Federal Council said.
