President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine says the force of new sanctions against the Russian Federation should be able to stop aggression against Ukraine. In his opinion, the time has come for restrictions on the Russian nuclear industry.

The leader said this during a joint press conference with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, an Ukrinform correspondent reports from Kyiv.

"Sanctions against Russia significantly reduce the potential of the terrorist state and should remain one of the key defense tools of Europe and the world. And that is why the application of new sanctions, which we are so looking forward to, their strength… it is very important that the sanctions are powerful and substantive. And the force of these sanctions should be such that it is capable of stopping aggression, and that Russia, most importantly, cannot adapt to certain sanctions," Zelensky said.
